February 8th, at 5:00 p.m., featuring organist Ayako Kuwayama, a performance organist known throughout Europe and current organist at Kyoto Catholic Kawaramachi Church. Come and enjoy her majestic and delicate performance of classics by Bach, Mozart, and more.

Tickets are 2000 yen per person and there is free parking in the church parking lot. Baked goods will be sold starting at 4 p.m. in the church gift shop while supplies last, with all proceeds supporting church ministry operations.

Organist Profile
Ayako Kuwayama is a renowned pipe organist who graduated with honors from the Lyon National Higher Conservatory of Music in France. She has performed widely in France and internationally, including on historic organs in the Netherlands and Germany. Kuwayama is a prizewinner of the Gottfried Silbermann International Organ Competition and a recipient of the Kyoto City Arts Newcomer Award.

She currently serves as a part-time lecturer at Elizabeth University and organist at the Kyoto Catholic Kawaramachi Church.

Join us on December 21 for a special Blue Christmas Evensong at All Souls Episcopal Anglican Church. This service is designed for those who may be feeling down, lonely, or struggling during the holiday season. Through contemplative music, scripture readings, and prayers, we will create a safe space to acknowledge our feelings and seek comfort and healing. Together, we will find hope and light amid the darkness, reminding us that we are not alone. Everyone is welcome to come and find solace in this caring community.

Join us on the first Saturday of every month for our Garden and Church Cleanup Day! Starting at 9:00 AM, this family-friendly event is a wonderful way to give back to the community, enjoy time outdoors, and help keep our church and garden beautiful. All ages are welcome, and no experience is needed—just come with a willingness to lend a hand. We provide all the necessary supplies, and light refreshments will be available. Whether you can come for an hour or the whole morning, your help is appreciated! Together, we can make a difference.

Feast celebrated in the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran Church on the last Sunday of the liturgical year. It celebrates Christ's messianic kingship and sovereign rule over all creation. The feast is unofficially celebrated in some Episcopal parishes, but it is not mentioned in the Episcopal calendar of the church year. Marion Hatchett notes that the Prayer Book collect for Proper 29, the last Sunday of the church year, is a “somewhat free” translation of the collect of the Feast of Christ the King in the Roman Missal. This collect prays that God, “whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords,” will “Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule” (BCP, p. 236). The feast was originally instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925 and celebrated on the last Sunday in Oct. It has been observed on the last Sunday before Advent since 1970.

Join us for a special All Souls Evensong as we commemorate our church's patronal feast in honor of the Battle of Okinawa. This service follows the traditional format outlined in The Book of Common Prayer and features choral music, including psalms, canticles, and anthems from the rich Anglican musical tradition. Together, we will engage in scripture readings and prayers, reflecting on our shared history and the resilience of our community. All are welcome to participate in this meaningful celebration.

Blessing of the Animals, Oct. 6. We remember St. Francis of Assisi with the Blessing of the Animals.  Bring your pets, or a photograph, or even your special stuffed pet, and they will be given a grace-filled blessing.

The Diocese of Okinawa will hold its service for "Irei no hi" at 3 p.m. on June 25 at All Souls Church, named after the souls lost in The Battle of Okinawa. For Americans unfamiliar with this day, the June 23rd – Irei no Hi – is a public holiday in Okinawa (but not in mainland Japan) and commemorates the end of the Battle of Okinawa and the thousands of soldiers and civilians who died and whose names are inscribed on stone slabs in Heiwa Kinen Koen, the Peace Memorial Park at Itoman in the south of the island.

The night before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus ate supper with his disciples, washed their feet and asked them to wash one another's feet.

Join us at 6 PM for an Agape meal, followed by food washing and the Holy Eucharist.

Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week. We bless palm branches and recreate the celebration of Christ’s entry into the City of Jerusalem, and take part in the reading of the Passion, the story of the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth.
