～オルガン奉献30周年を記念して～

沖縄戦から長い年月が経ちました。今年の「慰霊の日」に合わせ、平和への祈りと追悼の意を込めたオルガンメディテーション（チャリティーコンサート）を開催いたします。
ワシントンD.C.のワシントン大聖堂に隣接する聖アルバン教会より、素晴らしいオルガニストであるマシュー・ステイナー氏をお招きし、バッハやメンデルスゾーンなどの荘厳な調べを通して、静かに祈りを捧げるひとときを持ちたいと思います。音楽を通じて心を通わせ、平和への思いを新たにしませんか。皆様のお越しを心よりお待ちしております。
チャリティーについて
本コンサートの収益の一部は、地域で支援を必要とする方々に食事を提供する活動「じのん子どもの家」および「スマイルカフェ」へ寄付されます。

オルガン演奏者: マシュー・ステイナー
ケンブリッジ大学を卒業し、クイーンズ・カレッジのオルガン・スカラーを務めたマシュー・ステイナーは、英国の大聖堂聖歌隊の伝統のもとで音楽の研鑽を積んだ。現在はワシントンD.C.を拠点とし、ワシントン大聖堂に隣接する聖アルバン教会にてオルガン奏楽および成人聖歌隊の指揮を務めている。
ソリストおよび伴奏者として国際的に演奏活動を展開しており、2025年の独立記念日コンサートをはじめ、ワシントン大聖堂でも幾度も演奏を行っている。
また、カンターテ・コンサート合唱団の副指揮者も務め、以前はマイアミのトリニティ大聖堂にて音楽監督を歴任した。

About the Event
In observance of Irei no Hi (Okinawa Memorial Day), we warmly invite you to a special Charity Concert and Organ Meditation. This solemn afternoon of music is dedicated to remembering the souls lost in the Battle of Okinawa and praying for lasting peace.
We are honored to welcome Matthew Steynor, an accomplished organist joining us from St. Alban’s Parish in Washington D.C., to guide our meditation through the powerful and reflective works of Bach, Mendelssohn, and others. Please join us for this meaningful time of reflection and community.
About the Charity
A portion of proceeds will be going to Jinon Children’s House and Smile Cafe, a nutrition program that serves a vulnerable population in our local community.

Performer Profile: Matthew Steynor
A graduate of Cambridge University and former Organ Scholar at Queens’ College, Matthew Steynor received his musical training in the British cathedral choir tradition. Based in Washington D.C., he plays the organ and directs the adult choirs at St. Alban’s Parish, next door to Washington National Cathedral. He performs internationally as a soloist and accompanist, as well as at the National Cathedral, including the 2025 Independence Day concert. He is also the Assistant Conductor of the Cantate Concert Choir, and previously served as Director of Music at Miami’s Trinity Cathedral.
